Keep Kevin
Growing up in the family
business of Rome Seed & Feed Store, Tax Commissioner Kevin Payne learned
many leadership and budgeting skills. After graduating from the University
of Georgia with a degree in business, Commissioner Payne served as a
general manager here in Northwest Georgia for a Fortune 500 company. His
experience ranges from being the current Tax Commissioner to managing
hundreds of employees in large corporations and a small, hometown
business. From all of this experience, Commissioner Payne has learned that
the bottom line is that customer service matters most.
Commissioner Payne’s platform includes:
-
Improving customer service
and wait times of the tag and tax office.
-
Creating a
customer-friendly, safe and secure website where tax payers can access
tax information as well as make online payments.
-
Allowing taxes and fees to
be paid with credit cards, pending approval by the city and county.
-
Continuing to work with the
city and county school boards and board of commissioners to improve the
tax collection and assessment process to benefit the people of Floyd
County.
-
Continuing to run the tax
and tag office in a manner that is fiscally sound.
-
Improving the parking and
access to the tag and tax office.
